The gospel is so foolish (according to my natural wisdom), so scandalous (according to my conscience), and so incredible (according to my timid heart ), that it is a daily battle to believe the full scope of it as I the condemnings of my heart, and the lies of the world and the Devil than to overwhelm such things with daily rehearsings of the gospel.

Outside of heaven, the power of God in its highest density is found inside the gospel. This must be so, for the Bible twice describes the gospel as the power of God. Nothing else in all of Scripture is ever described in this way, except for the Person of Jesus Christ. Such a description indicates that the gospel is not only powerful, but that it is the ultimate entity in which God?s power resides and does its greatest work.

As long as I am inside the gospel, I experience all the protection I need from the powers of evil that rage against me.
Millions of people, both in society and in the church, are suffering under a crushing weight called guilt. Maybe you've had an abortion, or advised someone else to have one. Maybe you've lied to a friend, or stolen something and never made it right. Maybe you're addicted to alcohol or pornography or drugs or spending more than you have. Maybe you've hurt someone and never sought their forgiveness and now you can't forgive yourself. It could come from a thousand different things, but if you feel hopelessly lost under this pressure of guilt, this message is for you. Read More....
Albert Mohler on Children in Worship
Wherever children are to be found they are to be welcomed by Christ's people. Christ's people are to be more welcoming than anyone else to children. Our churches should not be places where adults cannot wait to put the children away in order to get to the adult tasks of worship. One of the scandals of so of much evangelicalism is that we send people to their rooms as soon as we get to church.
Now, I'm not arguing against the utility of a nursery for infants. I'm not arguing against the appropriateness of programs to teach children.

I am saying that when you look at a church and you look at a congregation you should see the congregation. You should see young people. You should see young couples. You should see older couples and older people. You should see those coming into the final season of their life and you should see those in the beginning season of their life. You should see people sitting in pews who's feet cannot touch the floor. And we should, in church, welcome the wiggling and the squirming, and we should hope that what is happening is that the Word of God is reaching those hearts in ways those children do not even recognize. They are speaking as children, they are thinking as children, they are reasoning as children, but the Word of God can reach where we cannot go. It is one of the ordinary means of grace that our children, in church with us, will hear the Word of God, and sing the songs, sing the hymns, hear the music before they can sing it. In order that they, at the right time, might find their voice.
"...the gospel... of first importance..."
1 Corinthians 15:1,3
If there is anything in life that we should be passionate about, it is the gospel. And I don't mean passionate only about sharing it with others. I mean passionate about thinking about it, dwelling on it, rejoicing in it, allowing it to color the way we look at the world. Only one thing can be of first importance to each of us, and only the Gospel ought to be. C.J. Mahaney, The Cross Centered Life
Feel a little out of control? Could you use some encouragement?

Her husband Mark was severely injured by a distracted driver. As a result, his job ended, they had to move from their home, and they had to let go of some of their dreams. Whatever your story, wherever you are in life's journey, we invite you to join Shannon and let the music from I Have a Song draw your heart to praise, on this Day of Discovery.

Lord, please guide my thoughts and actions so people will know I love you and have been with You. Thank You! Marion Stroud
Which of the five senses brings your memories back most vividly? For me, it is definitely the sense of smell. Paul reminded Corinth that they were the aroma of Christ: For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ. As the aroma of Christ, what perfume do Christians bring with them as they walk into a room? It's not something that can be bought in a bottle. When we spend a lot of time with someone, we begin to think and act like that person. Spending time with Jesus Christ will help us spread a pleasing fragrance to all those around us. 2 Corinthians 2:15
